The major objective of EPC-TM net is to improve survival of pancreatic cancer patients by development and validation of better therapeutic strategies targeting the tumour microenvironment rather than the tumour cell alone.

EPC-TM net represents a unique mix of people with different skills all dedicated towards a better understanding of the impact of different components of the tumour microenvironment on pancreatic cancer tumour progression. This team is drawn from different EU member states, cultures and backgrounds but all working together towards a common goal.

The EPC-TM net consortium will thus provide a platform to structure and integrate European research on multiple aspects of tumour-microenvironment interaction and thus foster the identification of new treatment strategies for pancreatic cancer.

EPC-TM net is funded by the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (project number 256974).
